It's not all plain sailing in business. Things don't go right all the time.
Actually, more often than not, they tend to go wrong...
What do you do when that happens? Think on your feet, adapt, or quit?
All those options are viable but if you want to be in business for any length of time we'd highly recommend the first two approaches. Tenacity, reliance, and determination are key attributes for success as a business owner.
Cultivating these traits in yourself is essential if you want to be a successful online coach. Our guest Diane Van Heerden came on the podcast to share her PassionApp journey and how she developed her own tenacity and drive to make her business a success.
Diane Van Heerden Guest Profile
Diane moved online after Covid locked down the gyms. A tech skeptic Diane struggled to understand how coaches could teach online until she started hosting lessons on Zoom. Once she realized online was the best place to scale her business she joined up with Fitwire to build her own mobile app.

Dan: Can you explain to us the emotions you were feeling when you weren't getting any positive responses for your app? What did you do to get over that hurdle?
Diana: Yeah it was a crazy turnaround. I was definitely stressed out. I felt lost, I did everything by the books so I felt a bit confused as to why it wasn’t working.
And I was a bit scared, because, as I said, I’m not a tech person. I don’t have a lot of followers and I didn’t get the response I was hoping for straight away.
So I panicked, and I posted on the PassionFighter group for some encouragement and loads of members got back to me with some really positive encouragement.
Everyone was telling me to keep going, have you tried this, have you tried that. And you know it can happen even on the last day of your posting or even after.
And this is exactly what happened. I stayed on track, kept posting and eventually the clients started coming in and it was such a great feeling when they did.
